Note: His occupation was farming. He was killed by a lightning bolt while planting corn with a team of horses on his farm, called the C.B. Gooch Farm. With the exception of nine years spent in South Dakota, he lived his entire life in Linn County, Missouri.

There are two infants buried next to Leo Glenn Bevier, Bernadette L. Bevier born and died in 1962, and Mary Elizabeth Bevier, born and died in 1963. Leo adopted Rose Marie Zachman, and he may have adopted all of Lorna Jean Bear's children by Rudy Zachman.
