Bevier, David W. (b. 13 AUG 1840, d. 7 DEC 1867)
Note: David enlisted in Tyrone, NY as Private in Co. B, 141st Infantry on 8/21/1862. Discharged as sergeant 7/13/1865 in Clinton, Iowa. No issue of this marriage. While crossing the Susquehanna River from Williamsport to Duboistown during a storm, David and Hetta were both drowned when their boat capsized.

Note: He was listed as a farmer in Orange County, 66th District in 1863. He lived alone in Clinton, Illinois in the 3rd Ward in June 1870. He was listed as a accountant/clerk. The couple lived in Clinton, Iowa in1880. His occupation was clerk in a sawmill. Jennie Smith was a member of the DAR, whose records indicate her birth was in Illinois. Jennie is listed in the 1929 Clinton, Iowa City Directory as a widow living at 844 5th Ave. South.

Note: He did not marry. Jacob S. Bevier enlisted 8/21/1862 at Orange, NY as Private in Co. B 141st Infantry. He was captured 2/24/1865 near Chesterfield Courthouse, SC. Paroled and mustered out at Elmira, NY 6/10/1865. His mother Hannah received a pension from the government later as a result of his service. He was in Tyrone Township, Schuyler County, New York and listed as a miller in the census of 1870.
His death was caused by his falling into the waterwheel at the mill at which he was working and he was crushed to death instantly being caught between the building and the waterwheel, a space of about eight inches.

He was enumerated in 1900 & 1910 with his wife and two children in Ward 1, Clinton, Clinton County, Iowa. He was a railroad fireman. In the 1929 Clinton, Iowa City Directory, he and wife Stella resided at 1017 So. 5th. In the census of 1930, Frank was married to a Stella ......... and her daughter, Lenore Krentz, age 21, lived with them.
