Note: He did not marry. Enlisted in Akan, Wisconsin 15 Feb 1865 to fight in Civil War He lived with his brother-in-law, Isaac Neher in Dell Rapids, Dakota Territory in 1880. His occupation was shoemaker. In 1900, he resided in Humboldt County, Vernon Twp., Iowa and he was a shoemaker. He evidently served his country during the Civil War as he filed for a pension when living in Iowa. He owned a home and it had a mortgage.

Note: One source indicates that his name might be Moses William Bevier. He enlisted in the Union Army 29 Feb 1864 in Dane, Wisconsin and served as a Private in Co. B, 36th Wisconsin Infantry during the Civil War. He was wounded at the battle of Cold Harbor. His widow, Sarah, filed for an army pension when she was living in South Dakota. He moved to to Iowa in 1877 and the family lived in Rock Grove, Floyd County, Iowa in 1880. His occupation was farming. He resided in Crawford County and then purchased the Boaz House Hotel in Boaz, Wisconsin.
