Note: He enlisted in the U. S. Navy in Cleveland, Ohio on Sep 3, 1909. He was a Pharmacist. Served aboard USS St. Louis. He was then assigned to Naval Training Station at Norfolk, Virgina. Discharged honorably Apr 20, 1918. Re-enlisted and was appointed Chief Pharmacist's Mate Apr 1918 until discharged again Jun 23, 1921.
In 1910 he was enumerated at the Brooklyn Navy Yard. He was enumerated in the census of 1920 living with his daughter, Frances E. at the Naval Base of Cavite in the Philippines. In 1930, he was living in Norfolk, Virginia. Burial records indicate he attained a rank of Lt. Commander. He was a career navy officer and died while serving in the US Navy. His last known address was in San Bruno, California 94006.
