William Bevier in the census In 1897, he was appointed postmaster of the Tuscarora, New York Post Office. During the census of 1920, he was listed as a general store keeper in Mt. Morris, New York.

Note: He was born named Harry F. Bevier. He lived on a farm on Lauden Road in Plymouth Township, Ohio. In 1900, he lived with his brother Delbert in Detroit, Michigan. He moved to Oregon and was listed in Aurora, Marion County, Oregon in the Census of 1910 and 1920 as George F. Bevier. In 1920 he resided in Butterville Pct. Marion County, Oregon. On his WW1 draft registration he wrote his name as George Ford Bevier and his date of birth as 24 May 1873. In 1930, he had moved to Klamath County, Pine Grove Pct. in Oregon and was a farmer. It is difficult to say exactly what his name was. He is listed as Harry F and George F. in multiple places. As his wife Lizzie was black,(she was listed as white in 1920) and he probably met her in Detroit, one can speculate that he fell in love with her, married her, was shunned by his family for this and moved to Oregon changing his name to George Ford Bevier.

Note: Children were orphaned at early age and raised by Grandmother Katherine BeVier. Lived in Lyme or Bellevue, Huron County, Ohio in 1900. Mary Boehler died of acute typhoid fever a few days before death of her infant son. Mother and son were buried together in the same casket.

In 1920, he lived in Seneca County, Tiffin Township, Ohio and he was a handyman by trade. In 1930, he resided in Detroit, Michigan. He was a real estate salesman. At some point in time he moved to the west coast of Florida for the winter months. His obit states he died in Marco, Florida.
