In 1923 he preached at the Unitarian Church in Woodland, CA. Evidently, he was a student pastor as he was attending Stanford U. at the time. In 1924, he was principal of the Saratoga, CA School. He was an exchange professor with England just before WW 2 according to an article in the Long Beach California In dependant newspaper May 19, 1940. He was registered to vote in Los Angeles County, CA 1916,1928, 1944-1950.
