Note: The Census of 1900 states his date of birth as March 1872. His parents are believed to be Frederick and Mary Esslinger, born in Germany and lived in Washtenaw County, Michigan in 1870. In 1910, the family of George V. Esslinger resided in Dunmore Boro, Lackawanna County, Pennsylvania. His occupation was line foreman on a railroad. In 1920, they resided in Scranton, Lackawanna County, Pennsylvania and he was chief engineer working for a "transit company." They lived in Scranton, PA in 1930 also and he was an electrician (maybe engineer on electric-powered engine) for the railroad.

Note: Carrie graduated from Michigan State Normal College (today known as Eastern Michigan U. at Ypsilanti). Carrie Bevier enjoyed a varied and interesting life. She taught classes in Flat Rock School and surrounding areas for 14 years. She owned and operated a clothing store with her brother George 1925-1928. Operated a woman's dry goods store with a friend, Mrs. Myrtle McBroom, in Flat Rock from 1935-1940. She was a dispatcher/clerk with the Flat Rock Police Department 1940-1943, and was Postmistress of Flat Rock, Michigan for over 13 years, retiring in 1956. In 1930, she lived in Flat Rock, Michigan with her brothers Charles S. and Joseph E. She was head of household and rented a home for $35.00 per month. Her occupation was cashier/bookkeeper in a general store.

Note: Lived in Detroit & Dearborn Heights MI. His occupation prior to WW I was that of a clerk with Burroughs Machine Co. Enlisted at Detroit, 11 Apr 1917, in U. S. Navy. Served on U.S.S. Kansas & Cythera, as yeoman. Became Chief Commissary Steward and was discharged after serving on receiving ship in New York City. Achieved rank of Petty Officer Yeoman 2nd Class in Navy. After the war he worked as a food wholesaler for Daisy Valley Foods which distributed Kraft foods in the Detroit area. The company was later sold to Vlasic and he worked for Vlasic Foods. Family tradition holds that while at Kraft, Frank helped develop the idea for single sliced cellophane wrapped cheese. In 1920 and1930, he lived in Detroit, Michigan and was sales manager in a creamery.
His death certificate indicates he was born in Dearborn, Wayne County, Michigan. This is suspect!

Note: He registered for the WW 1 draft in Wayne County, Michigan. He lived with his sister Clara and brother Sel in 1930 in Flat Rock, Michigan. He was afflicted with Cerebral Palsy, but lived a relatively normal life until 1941. He was injured in a fall while working at Ed Miller Ford in Flat Rock, Michigan. From that time he was bedridden.
