She inherited many items of the old Bevier collection of historical items in Marbletown. The most precious item was the old Bevier Bible, written in French, brought to this country by Louis Bevier the Patentee. That Bible passed on to her son Dr. Ernest Bevier Wright, and eventually to Historic Huguenot Street. She wrote the following poem:
The prow of the ship points out to the sea
And the faces grow dim of those waving to me
What means these salt tears? Whate'er may betide
The world is my own with thee at my side.
The wind may arouse the waves in their might
They may battle and pound in the dark of the night
But I stretch out my hand. A touch of thine own
And they heart speaks to mine, "not alone, not alone."
This mountainous sea in a wind-broken shower
Against us in foam-clouds is flung. At such power
I wonder, but still with presage of harm
For I feel the strong touch of thy hand on my arm.
The warm, bending sky curving dimly above
Almost smothers my soul in the greatness of love
And my heart leaps to meet all that God made Devine
For His secret is ours, when thine eyes rest in mine.
