Note: Was not married. Her residence in Poughkeepsie was the former home of Samuel F. B. Morse. Miss Young was a trustee of the Huguenot Historical Society for many years. It was through her generosity and that of her brother that "Locust Lawn," the Colonel Josiah Hasbrouck mansion, south of New Paltz, became the property of the Society and has been open as a museum since 1955. This home, built in 1814, is particularly noted for its fine collection of period furnishings and family portraits, and also its farm museum.
